Statement Of Intent Draft

Draft

My magazine is for ages 10-13 that are interested in football and the history of it. It will include the 2012 Champions League Final, which was Chelsea Football Club VS Bayern Munich. The magazine is aimed more towards Chelsea fans , as it is mostly about Chelsea. Elder Chelsea fans know this game very well, so that is why it is aimed at ten to thirteen year old's. My magazine will also include links to videos on YouTube, so they can watch parts of the Champions league final back. I will put a caption above the link to show what part of the game the link goes to. Furthermore, my target audience can also be other footballing fans who have experienced their team play in a cup final. My magazine will be called 'That Night In Munich.' My title is called this as it represents that Chelsea won the Champions League final in their opponents home ground. I will have 2 original images on the next page.

The main image on my front cover will be the Chelsea captain lifting the trophy with the other players. This is because it shows different emotions, such as tears of joy from the staff, to the players, to the manager! I will use a long shot for my front cover photo because i can fit in more people than i could if i done a close-up shot. I will use a close up photo of the manager because he was a very important part of Chelsea in 2012, as he lead us to the final and lifted the cup! Whereas, I will not use the photo of the manager as the main image because the whole reason we won the cup is because of the players and not just the manager. Also, I am going to use a different range of camera shots and techniques so they aren’t all similar, as the reader/viewer could lose interest. I will use intertextuality in my magazine as I can make reference to other media texts or types. I will have 3 original images on my front cover.
